Eligibility Criteria
The application is open to private organisations, research organisations and academia.
Your application shall focus on innovative technologies and demonstrate high commercial potential across the space sustainability and environmental sustainability subsectors. Additionally, your application must address one or more of the following ESA Phi-Lab UK pillars:
- Pillar 1: Fight climate change with space technology
- Pillar 2: Lead the global effort to make space more sustainable
- Pillar 3: Advance Space Domain Awareness (SDA)

1) Check the requirements
Please download the open call documentation and check the FAQ’s and make sure that your project meets the requirements of the call.
2) Expression of interest
Complete the optional expression of interest form and benefit from our feedback. We will aim to reply within 3 business days.
3) Apply for our program
Download the open call documentation, fill out the research proposal application template and send it to esaphilab@stfc.ac.uk before the deadline.
4) Evaluation process
Applications passing the tender opening board will be invited for presentations at the ESA Phi-Lab UK tender evaluation board which will take place in September.
